Buckskin Baby
“Buckskin Baby” is an original song about strength, confidence, and the kind of woman people underestimate at their own risk.
I wrote this as a character-driven story about someone who walks into a room and immediately gets judged, but never lets the whispers, doubts, or sideways looks define her.
The lyrics follow a woman with quiet fire, leather-and-lace style, and a backbone strong enough to stop a room cold when pushed too far.
It’s a country-flavored anthem about independence, resilience, and seeing the truth in someone when the rest of the world only sees the surface.
If “Buckskin Baby” reminds you of someone bold, fearless, or impossible to shake, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
Thanks for listening and supporting the music.

Buckskin Baby
She rolls into town in an old pickup
Brown fringe swinging in the light
They look her over, start whispering
Like she don’t belong tonight
She don’t hear a word they’re saying
She just smiles and walks on by
Yeah she’s been underestimated
Most of her life
That’s my buckskin baby
Head held high
Leather and lace
And a fire inside
You can laugh, you can doubt her
Say what you want, maybe
But I know the truth
About my buckskin baby
Neon sign, Friday crowd
She orders one, keeps it cool
Some guys think they found a weakness
Think they’re talking to a fool
One shove later, chairs go quiet
When she finally draws the line
They learn real quick
She’s stronger than she looks tonight
That’s my buckskin baby
Don’t back down
Looks so calm
But she’ll shut it down
You can talk, you can push her
But you won’t shake her, maybe
Yeah I know the truth
About my buckskin baby
She don’t need saving
She don’t need proof
She knows who she is
And she knows her truth
That’s my buckskin baby
Wild and free
She walks through fire
Then walks back to me
Let them stare, let them judge her
They don’t faze her lately
Yeah I know the truth
About my buckskin baby
Yeah I know the truth
About my buckskin baby
