Catch a Wave

 Catch a Wave

“Catch a Wave” is an original song that captures the feeling of endless summer, where time slows down and the only thing that matters is the next ride.

I wrote this as a celebration of the California coast, inspired by early mornings on the sand, the sound of the ocean, and the simple freedom that comes from being out on the water.

The lyrics follow a day in motion, from sunrise in Malibu to golden light at Point Dume, with friends, surf, and that perfect moment when everything clicks and nothing else matters.

It’s a laid-back, feel-good story about escape, connection, and finding joy in the rhythm of the tide.

If this song puts you in a beach state of mind or reminds you of your favorite summer memory, I’d love to hear about it in the comments.

Thanks for listening and supporting the music.

Catch a Wave

Sun’s up over Malibu
Board under my arm, sky so blue
Bare feet on the warm white sand
Hear the ocean call my name again

Radio hums from a lifeguard stand
Summer’s written in the grains of sand

Catch a wave, let the worries fade
Salt in the air, feel the sun invade
Huntington to Malibu
Every curl feels brand new
Catch a wave, feel alive
This is how we ride the tide

Wax on the board, glassy face
Perfect sets roll into place
Friends are laughing by the shore
One more wave, then one more

Seagulls crying overhead
Sunburned smiles, surf wax spread

Catch a wave, let the worries fade
Salt in the air, feel the sun invade
Huntington to Malibu
Every curl feels brand new
Catch a wave, feel alive
This is how we ride the tide

Golden light on breaking lines
Pacific keeps perfect time
No clocks, no plans, no shoes
Just water, wind, and nothing to lose

Catch a wave, let the worries fade
California dream parade
From the pier to Point Dume
Summer sings a sunlit tune
Catch a wave, feel alive
This is how we ride the tide

Ocean breathing, endless blue
Catch a wave and follow through
